Tiger Woods Denied Pizza Slice at Farmers Insurance Pro-Am
Talk about a “slice” problem in the literal sense of the word. Yesterday at the Farmers Insurance Pro-Am, Tiger Woods went to a concession tent organized by Dang Brother Pizza in pursuit of a snack. The 80-time Tour champion criss-crossed Torrey Pines’s 13th tee box to reach the tent…and got denied!
“They aren’t allowing us serve up right now,” the assistant, Daniel Johnston, told Woods awkwardly. Woods laughed this off, which journalist Brandon Stone of KUSI News caught on video. Stone later took to twitter to inform his followers that the PGA Tour requested him to take down the video, but you can still view it in his initial story.
“No comment,” Johnson replied afterward with a smile. Stone stated that the denial came from bad timing: the health inspector was performing a status check.
But Woods got to satisfy his hunger pangs a bit later. After his tee shot culminated at the edge of another concession tent, this one cooking fresh chili, Woods walloped a bowl full.
Woods is making his 2019 debut at The Farmers Insurance Pro Am in Torrey Pines, where he is an 8-time winner and expects to contend again. He teed off in the 1st group in Wednesday’s pro-am, getting started at 6:40 a.m. beside several Farmers employees. He says he’s geared up for the year after a painstaking offseason training regime.
In Paandu’s view Tiger Woods is still a formidable force at the PGA Tour, but going back to his peak would be impossible. Besides there is a lot of younger talent to contend with.
